Don't Risk It All: Your Future Matters This Thanksgiving

November is here. The air is crisp, the leaves are golden, and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It’s a time to be thankful—for family, friends, and the future you’re building.

But here’s the truth: every choice you make today shapes your tomorrow. And some choices—like using fentanyl or other opioids—can take away everything you’ve worked for.

Big Dreams, Big Milestones

Think about the moments you’re looking forward to:

  • Graduating high school and tossing your cap in the air

  • Getting your first job and earning your own money

  • Driving your own car with music blasting and windows down

  • Going to college or learning a trade that makes you proud

  • Traveling, exploring new places, and meeting new people

  • Falling in love, building relationships, and maybe starting a family

  • Helping others, making a difference in your community

These are real. They’re waiting for you. But fentanyl can take them away in one moment. It’s not just risky—it’s deadly. Even a tiny amount can stop your heart.

This Thanksgiving, Choose Life

While you’re passing the mashed potatoes and laughing with your cousins, remember this: you matter. Your future matters. You have so much ahead of you—so many reasons to stay safe, stay strong, and stay drug-free.

If someone offers you pills or something that seems “chill” or it’s “just this once,” ask yourself:

Is this worth risking everything?

Spoiler alert: it’s not.

What You Can Do

  • Say no. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.

  • Talk to someone you trust—family, teacher, coach, or friend.

  • Learn the facts. Fentanyl is often hidden in fake pills.

  • Share this message. Help others stay safe too.

You’re not alone. There are people who care about you and want you to win. So, this November, be thankful for your future—and protect it.
